Motorcycle brake calipers

Motorcycle brake calipers are a surprisingly complex part of the braking system on a motorcycle. Braking is necessary for safety and speed control while operating a vehicle, such as a car or a motorcycle. When you apply pressure to the brake caliper pads, it causes friction which slows down your bike’s wheels quickly to prevent them from turning too fast and skidding out of control.

In addition to the main types of brake caliper, there is also a range of additional features which you may need depending on your motorcycle’s specific needs: dust caps for keeping water out of the system, a locking mechanism if it has.

The brake calipers we are talking about here refer to private customized rather than standard parts. The brake caliper is processed with CNC machining for a precise fit and to reduce weight., and is made of 7075 aluminum and hard oxygen. 7075 aluminum alloy is an aircraft grade metal composed of zinc, magnesium, and copper. It has a tensile strength of up to 150 psi (pounds per square inch). Hard oxygen finish is for easy cleaning after the machining process.

There are standard brake calipers on the market, and of course, some people with a personality like to customize their own unique brake calipers. It all comes down to what you’re looking for and how much money you want to spend. For many people though, a standard brake caliper is going to get the job done just fine!
